MOVING TIPS:

The more prepared you are will reduce time on moving day.  If you only disassemble and re-assemble your beds this will save you time which will save you money on your local move.  We will come prepared to this but by doing so you are increasing the time our crew is there. Interstate moves are calculated by the actual weight and miles.  Items you eliminate will reduce your weight and will save you money. Be sure to disconnect all appliances and seal and label your cartons.

Under no circumstances should you pack jewelry, money, or valuable papers and/or any items which value greatly exceeds their insurable value with your belongings.  Also do not pack any matches, flammables, perishables, or other dangerous articles.  Ideal Way Movers will not be responsible should they be transported. Packing Tips:

Remember to save your newspapers they can be used to cushion the bottom and top of your boxes.  Keep in mind though, the ink never thoroughly dries and items wrapped in newspaper will most likely be soiled and will require cleaning after unpacking.

Ideal Way Movers can provide a minimal amount of used boxes/containers to our own customers as long as they are available.  You can also visit your local supermarket or liquor store and use some of their cartons.  Just be sure that each carton has a top and seal and label all of your boxes. (Back)

For further packing tips check out our brochures page. We can send you our brochure “Professional Packing” Tips for the do-it-yourselfer and brochures on on other useful packing and moving information.

Storage Tips:

Knowing the difference between a self-storage facility and storage provided by Ideal Way Movers is very important.  Just to mention a few: (1) many self-storage units are not normally alarmed for your items safety and (2) a mover is unable to provide you with moving or warehouse blankets for your items while they are in self storage.  If you choose to store in a self-storage area we recommend you keep all of your blankets and sheets available so they can be used to wrap your furniture.

Your mover’s valuation and liability ends once your items are placed into a self-storage area. Any additional valuation must be provided from the self-storage unit, a mover would be unable to provide you with such coverage. Please contact us for further information about Ideal Way's storage procedures at
